FISCHER INTRODUCES THE VACUUM FIT SKI BOOT
This year, Fischer introduced the Vacuum Fit ski boot. It is so revolutionary it is commonly referred to as the “game changer”. The idea is quite simple. That’s the whole genius of it:
Traditional plastics used in ski boots will be four times stiffer at zero degrees Fahrenheit than they will at room temperature. It took Fischer several years to develop a new plastic which wasn't so temperature sensitive. What they discovered in the process was a plastic that also is heat moldable. The Vacuum boot, available this season, is named for the process in which the boot is conformed to the skier's individual foot so that every irregularity is accommodated by the molding process, and the result is a perfectly comfortable boot that fits perfectly.

The process begins with the skier stepping into a set of bindings mounted to a custom machine specially built by Fischer. The technician then sets the stance width for the bindings to the skier's hip width. Now the skier gets off the machine, gets out of the boots, the liner is removed, and the shells are heated for 10 minutes at 175 degrees Fahrenheit in a custom oven designed by Fischer for this purpose. Once the boots come out of the oven, the skier puts them on. Then a refrigerated pack is wrapped over the boot, followed by a "moon boot" looking compression pack that fully encloses the boot. An air hose is attached to each boot which pumps up the compression packs to a range between 100 millibars (very soft) and 300 millibars (race fit). Then the air is let out slowly decompressing the packs. This process can be done up to five times to refit the boot.
Kunstadt Sports is the only Otawa area retailer offering this advanced technology.

We have the Original “Ski & Snowboard Sauna” Hot Box
Ski & Snowboard Sauna's patented heating process uses gentle radiant heat to evenly and safely warm your ski and snowboard bases for maximum wax penetration. Hot box users have reported that a few hours of treatment is comparable to up to 30 hand ironings ! The process of hot boxing results in super saturation of the ski and board bases for longer lasting results. Accomplished skiers appreciate the simplicity of a few Ski & Snowboard Sauna treatments versus the time-consuming repetitive hand ironing and scrapping that used to be the norm.
With Ski & Snowboard Sauna, simply hand iron an ample amount of the recommended wax onto the ski or snowboard and place in the Ski & Snowboard Sauna for 2 to 4 hours. Racers simply add the appropriate race day wax based on snow conditions to finish the process. The Ski & Snowboard Sauna will hold skis up to 218 cm, 4 pairs of downhill skis with bindings or 2 pairs of snowboards with bindings.

| INTRODUCING BANANA SNOWBOARD TECHNOLOGY |
|
Some call it reverse camber, some call it rocker, these guys decided to call it BANANA. But seriously, these people at Mervin Corporation are real inventors. They even genetically modified trees so the wood would perfectly match their board flex requirements. They got the blend of the best properties of Bamboo, Aspen, and Balsa to provide an excellent pop. Vectran liquid crystal polymer was developed as the fiber foundation for inter-planetary Mars Lander tires and has 10 times the strength of titanium. And it doesn’t even stop there. New Bio-polymer top material made from beans provides the industry’s strongest strength-to-weight ratios and is nice to the environment. They have combined these three elements to bring you the world’s most advanced snowboard construction.

The Mervin Corporation recently introduced the GNU, Lib-Tech and Roxy lines of snowboards. There are six types of banana shapes: Banana Tech, Banana Blend, Power Banana Blend, Enhanced Banana, Banana Camber Combo and Tip-To-Tail Rocker. We will be happy to talk details with you, just come visit. Also talk to us about the unique patented Magne-Traction edge shape. It looks weird, but it sure works!!
